Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Human Factors (HF) training is an important part of delivering an intervention within safety critical organisations. However, it forms one part of an overall system improvement. As with all training outcomes, they must be resourced in order to support their full implementation. For example, if people are trained to use a specific specialist medical intervention they need to be resourced with the equipment to ensure that they can provide the treatment. Similarly, it is not enough to train EMS professionals in CRM and then make them wholly responsible for system safety. So what can be done to support CRM4EMS implementation? It is reasonable to propose that CRM training for EMS can be supported by the EMS professional and the EMS organisation.
